Look up something called Lasso 800's, these are used by the elites, also train in a high altitude environment if you are close to a mountain this will help with your VO2 max, and most important do atleast a twenty mile + every week if you want to run long distances you have to train for them. Experience, lots of it, in order to become a good runner you need to learn how to fail and improve your form and technique.

work on your conditioning
start by just doing a regular cardio workout as much as you can and the more you do the longer and faster you wil start to be able to do it

run around your house or jog in place for ALEAST 30 minutes every day. different times of the day not all at once
