If you are actually IN JROTC, I can guarantee you were told EXACTLY where to put EVERYTHING on the uniform. By exactly, I don't mean which side, I mean exactly as in down to 1/8th on an inch.

I want to say left, but I always had two (drill and color guard) and we are talking 20+ years ago...

here's an idea: shine it up (if you still have to do that) and take it to school with you (off your uniform). Drop by the JROTC department before going to your first class to find out.

They will appreciate the fact that you care enough to ask...
