Cathy -- I wasn't targeting christians or atheists or anyone in between. Simply a parody on the number of questions that get asked about this movie PERIOD.

Stop trying to see malice where there is none.

well, i've read the books, and i gotta tell you, those thigns really changed by perspective of things. i was a christian before and a christian after and still am today. yes, the books to portray the Church as the bad guy, but not necessarily religion. it is about the conflict good and evil, but in the end what wins out is human nature, which is both and neither. the god in the movie is not the same God you and i worship; but yes, he does die near the end. the books at least aren't about "killing God" in the literal sense, they're about getting past the beurocracy and politics and hypocracy of the church. i would encourage you to read the books first and make your own educated decision instead of basing it on short excerpts of quotes from interviews a long time ago. if you read them, approach them with an open mind and if you still don't like the idea then by all means don't go see the movie. even if you don't want to buy the books they're almost vertainly at your local library i know mine has two books of each part of the trilogy Molly: those books are not childrens' books also, don't be mislead by the "daemons". Pullman is not suggesting that human souls are evil, and if you do about 30 seconds of research you'll find out that they are NOT the same things as demons. though it would be possible to relate them to demons it would we just as easy to compare them to angels

There are more Atheists on Yahoo Answers making a bigger deal about the Golden compass then there are the small small percentages of Christians protesting it.

Grow up!

Edit: It's not about malice, I said grow up as I would to anyone who keeps up all the talk about a stupid movie (no matter what they said). It's like the damn teddy bear thing. Enough already.

I have never heard about a movie more than I have the The Golden Compass. I will not go see it. Friends of mine have. The kids liked it..the adults hated it..said it was disjointed and boring. It is not doing well at the box office..I hope it just goes away...
