Well at least you're using wisdom and questioning what's bing said. What are others saying? They say you can judge them by their fruit.

Coming from a church where the pastor practiced this same form of Spritual Abuse. As the years go by, after listening to this mess for so long--you'll find yourself believing these lies. You also find, as I did, and many others that have been through this same scenario, that it will be difficult to break away from these people.
The first tactic is to cover and blanket you with love, better known as sickly sweet language. Then they'll try to win you back by showing how much your abscence will be missed in the church. Finally, the low blow, you will hear through the grapevine or sometimes straight to your face that you've chosen a path that leads to your destruction, along with your family.
I was told that my physical life was in danger of God's Wrath, my spiritual life would dwindle a flicker, my familial life will fall apart and that my finances would be cursed, that the canker worm would eat up any excess.
Everything that was said about my wife and I in this respect is completely and diametrically opposite of what actually is.
I feel in situations like this, people are people not hogs to be lead by a ring in the nose. Don't follow a man that is following his own plan--one could end up in Southern American village drinking kool-aid from dixie cups.

well, i thought that the offering went towards donations not directly to the priest, so if he freakin charges me than i'm suing!
I would also go to his church b/c he had the audacity to actually say what every other priest thinks about but never says.

I would laugh and question the pastor's taste in music. Then I would stay a member of that pastor's congregation for life! (I'd convert on the spot if need be).

I'd be looking at the context of the conversation- was this done in jest, or was this done as a serious form of one upmanship?
Also, they both normally- maybe nominally- work for the same guy, right? ;)

i would laugh and sing with him, because it isnt a big deal, i mean, this might have something to do with the fact that i am agnostic but i rly hate hardcore religious retards. its annoying, you should laugh and just have some fun, god wont kill you
