Many religions believe their god or gods are all places at all times, or can exist in multiple forms. The trinity seems to create problems in their minds because it's 3 distinct persons but still one God. How can someone believe God is omnipresent yet deny the trinity?

It is not a problem understanding it.. the problem lies in the fact that those people do not want to understand it. They have their own agendas such as the Jehovah Witnesses.. I personally think those man made religions are false prophesies. You will never convince a JW that there is a trinity because they have already bought into the watchtower teaching. The same goes for catholics, ( God never appointed a saint, but the Catholics did) Church of Christian Science, Mormonism.. each have their own principles and cannons.. there are more..but there is no need to name them.. if those other groups changed their teaching.. then they would have to admit that they were wrong to start with.. and that ain't going to happen.. good luck in your efforts..

Both the Bible and good philosophy report that God is non-physical - spirit. In John 4:24 it is said that God is spirit (see also Luke 24:39; Romans 1:20; Colossians 1:15; 1 Timothy 1:17). This is why no material thing was to be used to represent God (Exodus 20:4). But this can also be shown by reflecting on what God is. Philosophically the same truth comes through. All that is created is necessarily finite and limited. But the first cause (God) is uncreated, and therefore must be non-finite, or infinite. That which is beyond the finite must, by definition, be infinite, and the Bible states that God is beyond creation (1 Kings 8:27; Job 11:7-9; Isaiah 66:1-2; Colossians 1:17). That which is physical cannot be infinite - for you cannot add finite parts together until they reach infinity. Therefore God is spirit as opposed to physical/material in His Being. This does not mean He cannot localize a physical appearance. God is not composed of matter nor any other imaginable substance. He also cannot be measured, is not spatial, and has no true location (presence is a different concept). In the physical realm, water is a solid, liquid and gas. People can believe that but they lack faith to believe in the Trinity for only people with the Holy Spirit can have spiritual understanding and discernment.

I think some people are afraid to accept things they don't understand. Maybe they feel that if they admit to believing ,that their friends will turn on them. Peer pressure can really stop a person from accepting some things. Too bad, because they may wait too long to have a chance to see the goodness of the Lord. I don't care about peer pressure or what anyone thinks of me. I'm a Christian and I would tell the world if I had a way. But, I just have to let people around me know for now. I've used this example before but in case some missed it I will repeat it,
An egg is in 3 parts. There's the shell, the white, and the yolk, Yet it is just ONE egg. There's God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. In 3 parts yet just ONE. It's tough for an un believer to grasp I know. But once you accept Jesus things just seem to fall into place. I hope this will help some understand.

Omnipresence just means that God is everywhere all the time, and doesn't affect what you believe about who God is as a being. God doesn't need 3 of Himself to be everywhere all the time. The trinity is a description of the three natures in one being, which is really contradictory to the way we humans have learned to think. The fact that God is a Trinity doesn't have anything to do with "where" He is, just "how" or "what" He is.

If one can remember we only use 10% of our brain that always helps. Think of God as 1x1x1=1 God divide into three yet the same essential one.I can take a cup of water and make some of it ice and some steam all the same water.Jesus is clearly the creator along with God the Father in Genesis 1,John 1,Collosians 1 and Hebrews1.all that and the Holy Ghost hovered like a dove over her brood. All the same God,three different personalities.

For the same reason that people have a difficult time understanding oh say - how Joseph Smith (founder of Mormonism) was able to find some tablets in his back yard and translate them with magic glasses.

The concept of the trinity isn't difficult - it's just nonsensical. People will believe what they want to - if you accept the Bible in faith, then just accept the trinity - if you dont accept the Bible - the trinity probably isnt the reason . There are a whole lot better reasons to not believe the bible.

once you're a christian this is considering which you have encountered Christ. so which you're unlikely to choose for any concept that asserts he's in basic terms a lifeless guy, once you're a actual christian and characteristic some subject concerns of mistrust in direction of God. Frankly the gospel isn't focussed on scientific concerns, and neither have been people who preached the message focussed on such issues. Its approximately getting perfect with God. (And the presence of the Holy Spirit you acquire is a benefit no different faith gadget can carry you, and is easily a stamp for the believer of authenticity of what's taught, considering that who can supply the Spirit yet God.)

The trinity is an unnecessary complication - if god is omnipresent and omnipotent... Why do christians insist in defining it as 3 entities? Why not a billion? What's the point?

God created all.
God sent His son to earth for our sins...God Himself didn't come to earth as a baby.
Jesus left the Holy Spirit when he ascended into heaven, He told the disciples the Holy Spirit was here to comfort and bring peace until He comes back.

God can't sit by His own right hand, which is where Jesus sits.
And the Holy Spirit is here on earth for us all.

The "trinity" is God the Father, Jesus the Son, AND the Holy Spirit, not one entity.
