A very good friend of mine is a lesbian. She's my co-worker and is, in my estimation (which I know you will say is flawed; maybe so), an outstanding woman who loves her God, her family, and her job (as well as me as a close friend in whom she confides much). Now, according to our God's Word (and many people in here and elsewhere), she's going to enter into eternal destruction from the face of the Lord. This saddens me and is most grievous for me to ponder. How is God ever going to remove this sadness from my mind and my heart before I die concerning her? She does believe in Christ as the Son of God, and she loves Him much. (And all this assuming I'm not headed there myself.)
Your kind thoughts, please.

Edit - friends, I appreciate your thoughtful answers, but rest assured I do not preach to her. She knows the Bible from cover-to-cover. Sometimes, she "preaches" to me! (gotta love her!)

Sounds like you are a good friend.
Your friend is not going to go to hell because she is involved in the sin of homosexuality. If she goes to hell it will only be because she did not believe and trust in Jesus Christ as her savior and Lord.
The Bible strongly teaches eternal security of the believer. Jesus promised that once you belong to him and have the presence of the Holy Spirit living within you then nothing can snatch you out of the hand of God.
Jesus Christ also promises to begin a work of sanctification in each person that He redeems through salvation. Sanctification is a process so once you are saved and decide to let Jesus Christ be Lord of your life the transformation begins. Christ will change your desires, your world views, your tendency to live contrary to His word. Slowly but surely as you saturate your mind with God's word and talk to God in prayer each day and fellowship with other growing christians the work of sanctification moves forward.
I do strongly believe that homosexuality is a sinful lifestyle. If your friend truly loves Christ Jesus then she will develop a love and hunger for real truth. The Holy Spirit will teach her truth as she studies and meditates on God's word.
I pray that she has made a sincere decision to trust Christ Jesus as Lord. Time will tell as the Holy Spirit shows her areas of her life that are contrary to God's Will and convicts her of sin. If she truly is saved than I believe Christ will deliver her from the bondage of sin because this is why He came and died.
Pray for your friend. Love your friend. Speak the truth in love to your friend. Just keep encouraging her to continually seek Christ with her whole heart, soul, mind, and strength. Christ is faithful!

Just continue to pray for her. But more than that encourage her to pray. That God would lead her in whatever direction he would have her go. If she truly does that. God will open her eyes to what she is involved with. You don't want to condemn her, that will push her away. But you are right. She is living a double life w/ god/lesbianism. The Bible says God is a jealous God. That we must choose whom we will serve, God or man. I will pray for you both. You both need encouragement and insight right now. God Bless!

Although this act is against God - IT IS NOT the unforgiveable sin. She maybe BUT she doesn't have to practise it - I know in these human forms much easier said than done. Sometimes because of prior things - we are given certain things to over come in this earth age to become closer to Our Heavenly Father but he also does not give us anything [with effort] that we as his children can not over come. Help her/ give her strength and pray

It is the practice of homosexual acts that are condemned. Like any heterosexual can do, she could abstain from the acts of licentious behavior and still follow the precepts of Jesus Christ.

Just pray for her and be there when she needs you to be there for her. Preaching to her will not help because she is too enveloped in a sinful lifestyle.

The practice is condemned in the Bible.
The thing to do is to explain it to her that this will lead to death. She can repent and stop this unnatural way of life.
If she lessen you gain your friend. If not do not associate with her.Bad companions ,spoil use full habits.

Don't push your religion or belief to hard on her.Try to invite her to church but don't get any church leaders to rowdy about it.And if she does go don't let people stare at her or make rude comments.
I believe if christians accepted these people and helped them then they wouldn't be "lost".
