1. Call no man father: Jesus is talking about giving the reverence and respect due only to God to men, which is obviously wrong. He was not referring to the use of the word in titles, or forms of address that indicate a leadership role, as how it is used in the Catholic Church.
2. Mary is not worshiped. She is prayed to because she is alive in heaven with all the other saints and can offer prayers to God on our behalf. It’s called intercession. Look it up.
3. I hate it that children have been molested by priests. It the one scandal I wish I’d have never seen. We need to pray for both sides - the children and the priests - so that all are healed.
4. Christ gave priests the power to forgive sins. Look up John chapter 20.
5. Who was getting drunk at the Lord’s supper? What are you talking about?
6. The pope is our leader on earth. He was given this power by Christ Jesus. We have one High Priest, the Head and Ruler of the Church. His name is Jesus Christ. The pope in no way holds this position.
Anything else?

Why get mad, you only show you don't know theology and can't come up with an original argument. All of these are your misinterpretation or misunderstand of Catholicism.
Maybe try reading a book that is not prejudice and actually contains history and theology by actual scholars for a change.
Have a nice day.
EDIT: Okay addressing the molestation issue. First when I said misunderstanding and misinterpretation of Catholicism I was referring to the theology, I thought I made that clear. Secondly, unfortunately, very unfortunately, pedophilia exists. It is in the Catholic priesthood at the same rate it exists in protestant religions. At the same rate as teachers, social workers and the general population. About 5%. If people are really concerned about children they do not and will not limit abuse to a isolated problem within the Cathoic Church, but instead speak out against abuse period and be turning over rocks in all walks of life. If you don't then victims are not your primary concern, which they should be. I thought that would be common sense.
Happy Deist: I do not worship the Catholic Church. I actually have several problems with some of it's decisions. But you don't know me so of course you cannot make an accurate determination. Maybe some day you will learn not to assume.

unquestionably, confident. purely think of if the different have been genuine - if a public expert had blamed Islamic terrorism and the suspect grew to become out to be a tea partier. There may be no end to the coverage, and the expert might in all risk ought to renounce. Will Bloomberg be hounded via the media and pastime communities over this? of direction no longer. If this isn't any longer a double time-honored then i do no longer understand what's. playstation I very lots delight in the emotions of Freedomfighter and others expressed right here.

Peace.....
Father in Heaven: means not to worship anyone on earth to the
spiritual level of the Father in Heaven - do not worship anyone on earth as God.....
Mary: we can pray to her for intercession - she interceded at the Wedding of Cana when there was a shortage of wine for the people - Mary points us to her Son and she definitely has an important role in the salvation of souls when she said "yes" to the angel Gabriel. If she did not say yes, we would not have Jesus here with us.....
Child molestation: Sadly is taking place in all walks of life - from the Boy Scouts, family members, to clergy of all denominations etc. People are not asking the "priest" for forgiveness, but asking Jesus and the priest is giving absolution for the sin. People are asking Jesus for forgiveness through the priest - this is a sacrament of the Church. Hopefully, the priest is going to confession about his own sins and if he is not, it is on his own head in the end. An individual must worry about his own sins. We don't know that the priest has not forgiven himself in his own heart for his own sins and gone to confession as well.
Drunk in temples: I have never heard of anyone actually getting DRUNK at the Lord's Supper when hardly enough wine is given out to the people. At most masses, there is only the communion bread being given out and very seldom is the wine given out. When there are parties or events in the Church, they are NOT held in the Parish/Chapel building itself, but in a Church Hall/basement or building separate from the area of prayer and worship.
Church starting off: I don't think it started off right because Scripture says, "the apostles were not always of the same mind" - meaning they did disagree at times. Also, sin and corruption has been in every place and aspect of life since the fall of Adam and Eve.....
High Priest: for all eternity IS Jesus; but on earth is another matter.
Mad? Not me! How else will you learn?
God Bless You....."orthros"

1) What do you call the man who raised you and gave you his biological material? (Note: dad is the same thing as father).
2) Catholics don't worship Mary.
3)Molestation happens with Protestant priests as well, so don't be so self righteous.
4)How can you get drunk from a piece of bread and a sip of communion wine. Is there some kind of bar and buffet I'm not aware of going on in RCC's?

This doesn't make me mad, just frustrated. Catholics have successfully answered these charges for centuries, yet many people continue to keep putting them out there as if they relevant or new. They are neither.
The "call no man father" issue is really a non-issue. Read in context (as all scripture should be) we see that Jesus is not talking about the "label" or "title" of the word father, but the undue praise and honor this title may carry. Only God is our Father in the sense that the title may be used. When Catholics call priest father, it in the sense of a spiritual father and nothing more...it is not a title given to raise them up, or give the undue honor. This is the problem with taking verses out of context and applying a very literal translation to them. There are many biblical references to Paul calling himself father, and calling others his "children" this is the same relationship priests have with their parishioners.

Mary is blessed among women and not to be worshiped. Praying to someone is not synonymous with worship. Praying is only conversing. Worship is more than praying. We love Mary, we honor her as the Mother of Christ, we ask for her intercession. There is nothing wrong with this, and it is very far from the worship, praise, honor and love given to God only. Catholics know they are not to worship any other than God. We know who we worship. http://home.inreach.com/bstanley/worship.htm

The sex abuse scandal in the Catholic Church is horrible. It should not have happened and I pray for the victims. It is not really a pedophile act but one of pederasty. This is the abuse of post-pubescent youths. Still wrong, but it is a further perversion of homosexuality and not the attack on pre-pubescent children that pedophilia is.
But, it is not a CATHOLIC PROBLEM. It is problem of our society. The apparent dispropotionate number of priests that commit these crimes, is a misnomer. Many adults around the world commit these crimes. There have been large numbers of teachers, coaches, and protestant pastors...that a far and above the number of Catholic priests. The reason we hear more about the Catholic sex abuse is that there is actually an institution to "sue" that is large and global. Additionally, the statute of limitations was lifted...so suddenly we have people from 50 years ago reporting sex abuse. Again, not to make light of the problem...but it's all coming up at one time making it look different then it is. Also, 50 years ago...no one reported sex abuse by anyone...there just wasn't the training nor understanding in place. Children and parents felt guilty and embarrassed of sex and no one reported such things. My point is that the media has made this a Catholic problem because it gets them ratings. The problem is a societal one and no religion is free of this disease. 2500 teacher in the last 5 years have been involved in sex abuse cases. It is foolish and even dangerous to believe this to be a Catholic priest problem. There are more fathers and step-fathers who abuse children every year then priests ever have.

Confession. We do not ask the priest for forgiveness. Forgiveness can only come from God. But it is a sacrament conferred through the priest. The priest is the sacramental presence of Christ. A sacrament is "an outward sign instituted by Christ to give grace."The grace of God, the forgiveness of God, is given to us through the Lord's appointed priests. Just as the priest has the authority to marry and baptize, so he has the authority to hear confessions and confer forgiveness. When we get married, we are getting married before God, not before the priest, but it is necessary he be there because he carries the authority of Christ. Additionally, confession is biblical. Also, priests go to confession too as does the Pope. Their office does not make them into sinless or perfect men. Only that they carry the authority given to their office. You are right they cannot forgive their own sin, they must go to another, confess their sins and ask for forgiveness from God. http://matt1618.freeyellow.com/confess.html

As far as getting "drunk" I have no idea what you mean by that. Yes, there have been alcoholics who are priests, but in my life I've only known one. I've known more alcoholics who are not priests. So I can't say that there is anything specific to being a priest or Catholic that would make anyone a drunk. Using wine as part of the Eucharist is the same drink that Christ used. Back then...they did not use "grape juice" they all drank wine. We know this from the ancient writings, not just from scripture.
The Pope is the Vicar of Christ. He holds the office given to Peter by Christ. Jesus gave Peter the "keys to the kingdom of heaven." If you understand and read the old testament, you will know that the "giving of the keys" held a great meaning in the time of Christ. When the master of the palace went away for an extended period of time, he would give the keys to his right hand man. The person who held the master's keys held his authority as well. He would act in the place of the master until his return. All of the palace knew that the person given the keys was the person in authority and that he could make decisions, for the palace and the master's family until his return. This was a huge honor and responsibility. Peter was given the keys and told by Christ to "feed his sheep." In other words, until the return of Christ, Peter was in charge. Peter passed this authority on to his successors...all the way down to Pope Benedict. It is not the person but the office that holds the keys. To think that all this died with the apostles is ludicrous. Why would Christ, who died for his sheep, leave them unattended?
We also do not think the Pope, as a man, is infallible. The Pope is a fallible person like all of us. But the Holy Spirit protects the office of the Pope from making errors when speaking on faith and morals. This is a promise of Christ, that the gates of hell would not prevail against his Church. The Holy Spirit was sent to guide and protect and that is what he does.

Why should Catholics be mad at such out right lies about our faith? We know what we believe and what is taught in the Catholic Church.
Matthew 23:1-12:
Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
OK, so what's He saying here? What's His point? He is admonishing those who would raise themselves up as "holier than thou," are spiritually prideful, and boasters. He is saying that we are not to put any man, including ourselves, including the Pope, above God, simple as that. He is not saying that we are not to literally ever call a man father or rabbi or teacher or master; to believe otherwise is to call Him a liar because He Himself calls people father, in both the physical and spiritual sense (in that same chapter, even, in Mark 7, Mark 10, Mark 13, Luke 6, etc.) and doesn't admonish those who refer to "our father David" as they greet Him during His triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The four evangelists speak the same way, Christ's Mother speaks the same way, as does Paul who refers numerous times to our "father Abraham."
More important to the argument is Paul's acknowledging his own spiritual fatherhood, I Corinthians 4:14-17 being among the most explicit in which he says "I have begotten you through the Gospel," translated in the NIV and NASB (among others) as "I became your father through the Gospel." Tellingly, in this verse he even distinguishes between people who teach about Christ and "fathers" in Christ (see verse below) -- i.e., he differentiates between all Christians, who are exhorted to teach about Christ, and "spiritual fathers," who are ordained priests.
The priests you speak about that molested children were all homosexuals who infiltrated Jesus's church. What about all the men that molest children that are not priests, but are ministers, reverands, teachers, coaches, fathers, uncles, grandfathers and brothers?
Mary is not prayed to or worshipped. We honor Mary as we honor our earth parents. And we ask Mary to pray for us. Jesus said to take this bread and eat it this is my body and take this cup and drink for this is my blood. Jesus was speaking literally and Jesus is very present in the Eucharist and in the Catholic Church. There are no man made traditions in the Catholic Church, it is all sacred tradition which is what Jesus taught to the Apostles and they have handed down thru the ages.
As to what I think of your post, you are just the typical anti catholic bigot who does what they can to bash Jesus Christ and His true Church. When you bash His Church, you bash Him.
