Personally, I enjoy rudely bumping into Canadians from BC to Nfld and hear them apologize in regional dialects. Mind you, if you think our Marines are tough, try bumping into a soldier of the famed VanDoos (English for vingt-deux, the 22nd Regiment of the Patricia Pats, I think).

I love the friendliness of the people, the wide ranges of weather, the open countryside, and that we are respected around the world for our honour, politeness, and courage.

I love the fact that we have two official languages and that I can communicate in both, so I can understand and talk as easily to someone in French as in English. It opens so much more of the world for me. (I only wish I spoke better Spanish so I could open more doors).

I hate the fact that we have an agency in Quebec (where I am) that feels it has to enforce laws and push Francophone rights by trampling on other languages instead of simply promoting it.

I hate that we keep wasting tax-payer money on referendums and city merger debates when the money could be spent elsewhere, like improving healthcare and infrastructure.

I like it all. I live here. About the only thing I don't like is what the Van Doos and the PPLI will do to you if they see that you merged both regiments as one, in your question. :) They are two separate Army Regiments. The 22nd is primarily French Canadian and the PPLI ( Princess Patricia's Light Infantry) is primarily anglo.

USE TO TRAVEL FROM SEATTLE TO VANCOUVER AND VICTORIA ONCE A MONTH.

CANNOT REMEMBER WHERE IT WAS LOCATED THE Shakespearean INN. EACH ROOM WAS DONE IN A PLAY THEME AND THE BEDS WERE DONE IN QUILTS AND GOOSE DOWNS.

ALWAYS LOVE LAKE LOUISE AND VAMPH?
