I say it is always good to take a chance on bettering your life.
Just don't forget to.............
Look before you take a leap!
Many of the ins, outs, ups and downs can be determined in advance. I suggest you do due diligence and make some kind of business plan. If you plan it well, it will be a natural transition from your J.O.B. (just over broke) to business owner.
I read a nice article today that can be found at http://www.lifehack.org/articles/management/how-to-build-your-business-before-quitting-your-day-job.html
The article provides a list of ten things to work on to determine a good crossover point. In other words, don’t quit until you have done them. I hope this helps. It is great to have a business. It's greater if you go in educated.
BEST WISHES!

If you've got the finances to start your own business, and you have done the research and know you have a good thing....well then certainly go with it....and make yourself rich. I am for the individual......not the corporations.

Not so easy to do,what line are you thinking of going in?is there any around you?will it be expensive to set up and run?.how many staff?
One has to sit down and think of what one wants to do,then jot down all the GOOD things of setting up and then all the BAD things to see which outdoes the other, you must NOT cheat on this as it could make you decide on the wrong decision.
Take great care and good luck to you.
