There are many diffrent names, however if you are catholic then like the Arabic and the Muslim religions you believe in monotheism which is the all powerful God. Based on your religion you believe that Allah is just another name for the Catholic god. There is only one Arabic god.

Islam is based on the same history and scripture of Judiasm and Christainity. Allah is just how it is said in Arabic...but it is the same as God of Abraham like in the Old Testament. Jesus is recognized as a prophet...Muhammed is considered the last prophet.
If you really check it closely you will find more similarities than differences in all the religions...all people are expressing their spiritual revelations...with their own cultural references. But Jewish, Christian and Muslims are all rooted in the same original scriptures. Muhammed is a descendant of Abraham's son by Hagar named Ishmael.

Islam is an Abrahamic religion, much like Christianity and Judaism, as such, the Allah that muslims are referring to is the same Allah you'd be referring to if you spoke Arabic. In short- Allah is God, not something like Thor, Zeus, or Cthulhu- just plain old God.

Whoever is the real god can't possibly punish us all for believing in something different from each other with all the lies in this world and confusion it's like picking the winning lotto ticket, I prefer to believe in god not as a person but as a spirit among us all. I think the no.1 reason I don't believe in Muslim is you turn on the news and Muslims are crazy guys just killing and dictating to us to believe in Allah, and to remove our protection. Look at Africa Pakistan Middle East it's nothing it's empty crazy wars why would I believe in anything like them? Why would I even want to? Look at USA and uk and Europe, we all live in peace we don't have everyone running around with guns and knifes and our countries are clean we want to travel the world etc... Muslims don't seem to have much ambition. I'd hate being Muslim its like representing the devil. Every belief should get out each others faces. Shouldn't retaliate. Christianity is the heaven I'd want and do believe in.

Muhammed's family were priests of the ancient Moon God "El Allah" so when he started his religion, naturally he raised the Moon God up to Almighty God status. One thing for sure ,Allah is not the Jehovah(YAHWEH) of the Jews and Christians.

Islam is a monotheistic religion, just like Catholicism -- whether or not you believe that God and Allah are the "same" is a matter of personal belief, but to Muslims, Allah is the one true God.
