I am not a Teresa fan but I have to say that I think it should stay with DEI. Let's say he did get it and when he wanted to go back to DEI (or maybe another team) he would be trying to get it from Hendrick, because the driver doesn't get the right to the number from NASCAR tha team owner does. I just think is will prevent problems in the future. Also did Richard give Kyle the #44 when he left Petty Enterprises, no. Would Richard of given Dale the #3 if he decided to leave RCR and race for himself when he created DEI, I don't think so. They were friends but Richard was running that number before he hired Dale. And as for the next person to sit in it will be Mark Martin at Daytona.

I see Dale, Jr. interior the #3 or the #25 (or 5) Bud automobile next 12 months. He has suggested that he truly would not desire to amplify JR Motorsports to run Cup. DEI has shown that they can't placed Jr. in a aggressive experience. Gibbs is a protracted shot and the different communities are out of the question. notice: Dale Earnhardt included replaced into named as such with the help of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. whilst he began the organization, long in the previous Jr. ever drove a Cup automobile (he gained 2 Busch titles for DEI).

Mark Martin will probably be the next to sit in the #8 and I know he won't feel squeemish at all. And i'm sure he'll be doing it more for Dale Senior than Dale Junior. I don't blame Theresa for wanting to keep the #8 car, and I wish Junior a couple wins in 2008, I'm also looking for Truex to bring down the checkered flag in 2008. It's going to be quite difficult to watch the #88, compete against the #1 and #8. Gordon and Johnson are gonna have their hands full. That's why I know Johnson can't win 10 races in 2008,. because look out! here comes the Toyotas of Stewart and Busch, and the Fords of Kenseth and Edwards. 2008 promises to be a very entertaining season. I bet Hendrick Motorsports will dominate again, they deserve to.

I would drive any car, but I don't think I would be able to do the 8 justice. I think we will see Mark Martin behind the wheel for a few races next year, but I am not sure. There will be a permanent driver behind the wheel of the 8 car though, that is the DEI money maker, so I expect to see a high profile driver.

Mark Martin and Aric Almirola will be driving the 8 next year for DEI (Teresa Earnhardt)

More than anything Junior will be an embarrassment to the legacy that Dale Jarrett made with the #88. One thing now about the number 8 is that it will now finish races more consistently since it now has drivers that know how to finesse a car.

If I knew that I could prove that it wasn't the car, but the fact that the driver was mediocre at best, I'd jump at the chance to drive the #8. And considering that Mark Martin is going to be in it next year, maybe the car will actually finish some races.

I think she shouldnt have taken the number 8 away from JR in the first place but no matter what number he is he will always be a amazing driver, but no one can over come his dad races

The #8 is going to have a new identity next yr, its not going to be the bud car any more its the US Army Car that Mark Martin and Aric A, are going to be sharing the ride and its also going to be a black #8, not the red we were use to.. I'm sure Mark and Aric are going to do just fine. Its gonna be a little weird, but we all will get over it..

umm, I think Mark Martin will do just fine! Bud is gone and so is JR. Look at the history in the 88, more to live up to in that number than the 8.
