I went to the dermantalogist on friday & she prescribed me some pills called doxycycline to take every morning & night. & she also gave me a gel called Differin to put on during the evening.
I'm using Cethapil Facial Cleanser.
If you are or have used any of these products can you tell me if they do or don't work, if they do work, how long will it take to start showing improvements? Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! :)

one of my friends has been taking doxycycline for several years now. since they are antibiotics, over time they will not work as well as they did in the beginning, and your acne might still flare up in the future. Also, i have not heard good things about doxycyline because it supposedly stains your skin, nails, and teeth and these stains can be permanent.

if they do work, it will take AT LEAST one month to show any improvement, but probably several months. cetaphil is a good cleanser , though so i would continue using that.

I was given Cetaphil too once, and found that it did nothing for me. Masques work very well and I found most Neutrogena products do too.

I also noticed Differin worked very well, but it took a while to kick in (about a month) and left my skin very dry so remember to moisturize.
