YES. I have already registered for donating my eyes. I am also in the process of registering for my other organs if usable, after my death or in case I have a brain death earlier than the actual death. Let me be helpful to some one after my death at least.-

I am surprised by the number of responders who are on the donor list, including the donation of an entire body to science. Your decisions are worthy of applause.
I am also a donor, but my organs are of limited use. I carry HCV type 1a, and so can only donate to another HCV carrier. The good news is that they've found that this type of transplant usually holds up better than one without the infection. The bad news is that it is considered stop gap measure only. The point is to get rid of the Hep C, not just extend the life span.
I don't really care if they use my liver or not, just so long as it is available in case someone needs that stop gap. HIV carriers are excluded, but there is such a shortage of livers & hearts that they will now accept those with HCV for transplant into other HCV carriers. Mine has little scarring and only mild to moderate fibrosis, heart is fine.
I've met many people with HCV sinve I was diagnosed with it. Some picked it up with drugs, others with blood or an organ transplant. The one thing we all agree on is that nobody should die of end stage liver disease. It's a horrible death, and leaves a family shattered in it's wake.
My own humble opinion is that if it goes as stated in the Bible, God will replace the organs donated, including a complete body if needed. After all "Do unto others...." is given an ultimate meaning by saving the life of another. If it goes per the agnostics, there is still the point that once dead one has no need of the organs, and most agnostics I've met are much more Humanist in nature.

No--they bypass to whoever's next on the checklist; in spite of the fact that, there are various lists in basic terms here. some people who're waiting for organs are on distinctive lists. Whoever might acquire your organs might maximum probable evaluate you a chum, if not family members.

Am i a whole? Mmmm!
Yes! I have donated my brain to 'The Brain Research Centre, London and my body to The Medical Research Centre. Once I'm dead, I will be reborn again in a new body i believe as I'm a Buddhist, so i won't need this one. why bury it or burn it when science can make good use of it?
I was told by the TMRC that they can make use of nearly every organ, tissue and bone etc...
Go for it !!!

Absolutely. Having worked my entire life in the medical field, I know the absolute miracle that organ donation can bring about. According to the Catholic Church, at the time of death, it is our souls and not our physical bodies that go to whatever place how we lived our life has led us. Only after the Second Coming and the end of the world, will our bodies be reuinted with our souls, and whatever was missing or hurt will be made whole.

I'm an organ donor, but I'm not Christian so I don't think this applies to me. When you die, you have no need of your organs. Why let them rot in the ground when someone else could be using them to get a few more years with their family?

my baby died in 1996 after 2 liver transplants . Ok you might think it was all a waste of time but i know the meaning of hope and it is a very special thing. All donors and especially parents of donor children should be very proud. You are very special people in a world full of vanity and greed.

I don't want to be an organ donor. I want to leave my body to medical science so that future Doctors, Surgeons and Dentists can learn from it.
If they don't have actual bodies to work with, how can they learn?
My problem is persuading my wife and family to accept my decision.
