I think you should be. Tthey may think badly of you, but it's better than them thinking you're someone that you're not.

If you have a serious relationship with someone, you bet you better disclose AIDS/HIV long before you hit the sack.

As far as crime, if you did the time and are reformed, why tell someone?

As for mental illness, you will be labeled by people, so be careful. If you are dangerous to yourself or others, best to not be in public altogether.

It depends upon the person and the circumstances. I would not wish to make others uncomfortable by discussing something that does not affect them but may be off color.
On the other hand, I find that my past mistakes are often most helpful to others when the discussion is relevant.
Illnesses are relevant if they are contagious, and a gentleman would always safeguard those he entertains.
The rest is information to help along understanding and connection. If I have a quirk or uncommon social pattern, I would want to help others understand who I am.
Connection is always a mutual effort and I respect the wishes of those who are not inclined to the pleasure.

I think it would depend on the situation. I don't think it would be some thing that you would say to just any one. like in every day conversation. I think things like what you mentioned should probably stay among good friends that you feel comfortable talking about it with. If you say it in the wrong place or to the wrong people it could really mess up some ones life. Because so many people find the need to gossip.

Happy Holidays

First and for-most, If you have any STD's and your going to hook up with some one, than you need to be very open with that person about it. So if you have Aids and you have sex with someone and you transmit the virus, you could get a big fine, even go to jail.

If you feel comfortable telling others, then yeah. I mean, some people will judge you by that, but others will understand. There are some things I have no problem telling others, ie, that I sleep walk a lot and act like a general idiot when I do, but there are other things that I wouldn't tell people randomly. It depends on the person.

I believe the 4-way test is a good guide when to be and when not to be open about sensitive issues. If you are comfortable with it and aware of the consequences, then it should be okay. As long as you`re not hurting yourself, others and it`s beneneficial or not harmful overall to anyone or everyone concerned then go ahead.

Only if the condition/situation is relevant to the relationship/situation/job performance, etc. Otherwise most of that information falls under the category of MYOB.

Have a polite day.

Speaking in general conversation? No. People are very judgmental, I would keep any personal details to a minimum unless you know them very well.

As long as you know the person i would say ya. if it is some stranger i would not be that personal and would just say "sorry i don't want to talk about that" or something else which is still nice but not being rude.

The truth always comes out eventually, so you might as well be up front to begin with. Wouldn't you want to know the truth from the very beginning?
