Here is some information from the Associated Press:
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Associated Press) A law enforcement official says the gunmaan who killed two people at megachurch has been identified as Matthew Murray, a 24-year-old suburban Denver man who "hated Christians."
What I am alluding to is this, does not this murderer know that these were not "true" Christians to begin with? It is getting really bad how atheists or anyone really butters "ALL" Christians in one biscuit, you know? If these folks are serving a false religion, why are they called Christians? It is sad that most people do not know what a "True" Christian is, but group all so-called "false" & "true" Christians in the same batch.
As for the murderer who went bazzirk killing up those people, he said he hated Christians. I think what he meant to say is that he hated "False" Christians because they are truely to blame for most badness in Amierica. Still didn't give him the right to kill, you know?
Thoughts?

Correction: All false religions are to blame for the certain chaos and blood slaughter in the world in both past and present time; not just "false" Christians, but all those who do not worship God with their whole heart and mind, but make excuses for the blasphemous, detestable, wicked behaviors.

Another Update: Police say the gunman believed to have killed four people at a megachurch and a missionary training school had been thrown out of the school about three years ago.
Can we guess why he was thrown out? And yet...he still didn't get any better; he still did not straighten himself out to make himself worthy to "come back", but "come back" to what?

i think of the choose became proper, notwithstanding that's often dangerous to verify no remember if somebody is mad or not from this distance. From the checklist you have related, there is a few advice (in his behaviour with the police) that Shelton became laid low with a manic or hypomanic episode that could have been mitigating, yet not sufficient to permit a not in charge verdict. i've got self assurance this crime became a results of a mix of irrational religious perception and easily acute psychological ailment. often a daunting and deadly cocktail.

How does going to a megachurch make one a 'false' christian? ANYONE can make the decision in their heart, even someone who heard about God from Jerry Falwell. Or Pope Benedict. And this guy didn't have to be an atheist. Just an idiot.

I don't think he was an atheist. I think he was either mentally ill or demon possessed/oppressed. Just because his parents were christians doesn't mean he was a christian and if he was, then maybe the devil just was heavily oppressing him and he didn't rely on God for strength. Or maybe he was backsliden which causes a lot of anger.
In short, no, I don't think he was atheist at all.
btw, how do you know if they were or weren't "true" christians. I don't know what you are getting at but it doesn't sound accurate.

You answered your own questions. He's a christian.
I'm an agnostic. I don't understand a mite of your second paragraph. The people in the megachurch were serving the christian religion. It wasn't a mega-mosque or mega-temple. Who are you to judge who is "true" in their faith and who is not? Do you know these people? Did you know the shooter?
Bad people, no matter the faith, are responsible for their own deplorable acts.

We cannot get into that man's mind to see what he really meant.
All we can know is what he said.
As far as being an atheist, though it looks that way, he may have simply been someone with A LOT of distorted thinking going on...you'd have to, to shoot people like that.
I would guess probably he was atheist.

not only are you judging others on whether they are true Christians or not
you are making assumptions about the murderer ... and I hate to say it but you are quite wrong

He could have believed in anything - no particular philosophy or religion. One thing he did believe in was murder.

the basic law of all religion is peace. in all honestly, hate and fear drives a person to mass murder. i dont think religion had anything to do with it.
