The Holy Spirit can reveal to the Christian when evil is present in another person or a place. It is a gift of discernment and it is available to all Christians that grow in knowledge of the Lord. It basically is done by studying good.
Evil also recognises it's duplicate. "Mystic" is just a pretty face put on those the devil uses.
