I have been out of town twice a week apart this month my brother takes care of them while I'm away. They are eating the same food they always eat which is a high quality organic dry food. The eat in the morning and a small amount before bedtime normally. My brother leaves alot of extra food out. Would eating more than normal cause the gas? They've never had problems before when I have been out of town. What do think is causing this, and is there a cure?

Hi there...cats who eat more than their usual serving portions may experience bowel distress (gas, diarrheoa, etc). If your brother offered table scraps this could also contribute to the excess gas.

Over time once your cat eats their normal servings their bowels should improve. If not, please consider ringing your veterinarian to discuss the symptoms and they can determine if your cats need to come in to be evaluated and treated respectively.

yes, it prbly is the exess food. tell ur brother 2 stop putting exess food out 4 them.
this might b causing it b/c when cats get a lot of extra food, they often will assume they will keep getting that amount of food, so they will often eat more than they usually would.
make sure ur cats hav food that isn't a small amount, but not large.
when ur re-filling ur cat's bowl of food when it gets empty, the most u should ever fill the bowl is to the rim
Hope i've been helpful

Can you be abolutely sure they weren't given some other kind of treat, or that they didn't get into something that you would have put away? Better have a talk with brother, not accusing but asking.

I'd suspect he's given them milk or fish, both will cause a lot of noxious gasses.

cheap cat food. invest in a better brand and give your cat some greens -mine likes canned peas, green beans, and corn.

Fart back at her. That way she'll understand the problem and try to address it herself.
