There is no such thing as a "mail order bride".

The immigration laws have been changed over the past 10 years to help ensure that anyone marrying a US citizen has a real relationship with that citizen, and they are not "after a visa".

Also, immigration law is set up so that it is nearly impossible for a young woman to obtain a visa to the US to come to meet a man and marry him - in almost all cases, the man must go to her country to meet her (again, it is done this way on purpose).

The way current immigration/visa laws are written, it takes an average of 2 years to get to the point where a citizen can marry a non-citizen, and bring that non-citizen to the US. Even after the non-citizen gets to the US, they are on "conditional status" and the laws protect the citizen for up to an additional 3 years before the non-citizen can apply for citizenship.

Human trafficking is kidnapping young girls (usually girls) to be sold into prostitution at best and slavery or the like, totally against their will and against the law.
Mail order brides are women who are cataloged and presented to prospective husbands to have there travel expenses paid to go to be married. They are consenting people but the legality of being brought into the US just to marry is iffy.
marrying just to get a green card is not legal so I'm not sure how the immigration people see this process.
Good question, I will be watching for other answers

Human trafficking is more relate able to coyotes bringing illegal aliens across the border. Yes there are laws. No there are not laws about mail order brides, after all we have the right to choose with whom we want to marry mail order bride or not. (as long as they consent)

Does trafficking make you think in terms of that was paid for.Mail order brides should be against the law. Men take advantage of women with no where to turn but to sell themselves. Then if the women don't want to sell themselves they are kidnapped and sold over and over as prostitutes. And men think they have a say so on abortion rights.

There are different purposes associated with "human trafficking."

You have those who traffic people for the purpose of cheap labor and sex.
