Who on earth ARE these people? Not only have I never heard of such a thing, but I can't even imagine how it got started. (Did your mother once long ago take you calling on Christmas, and when you wanted to use the lavatory in the house you were visiting did she tell you it was bad manners? Maybe she was of the school of thought that held that it was bad manners to use the lavatory in someone else's house, and you mistook place for time. Or maybe she thought her friends' loo wasn't clean enough and found it more polite to say what she did.)

They left out some words, or you misheard them - What they mean is that it's rude or bad manners to use the lavatory on Christmas day with the door open.

I think you'll find that using the lavatory is a whole lot better manners than not doing so.

Who says that Someone is jerking your chain. It's always polite and essential to use the lavatory.

Boy, I'd like to see people try to hold it all IN for an entire day!
I have NEVER heard of such nonsense. What part of the world do YOU live in?
Have a polite day.

I never heard that one before. What would be rude or bad manners is leaving it on your chair while eating your meal!!
