Which help you get hieght calfs,hamstrings or quads and which help with distance. The same for a punch which muscle helps break or snap.

Get a weight vest, and train moderately in it. It has made my vertical leap 15ft! For my black sash test, I had to perform this feat in order to pass. This was my training tool. THe best way to train the hip flexors is to look at the following address http://www.tacticalathlete.com/bridgearticle.htm the hip flexors are very neglected by athletes, this exercise is great on so many levels.

Back + Triceps + Forearms for punches.

Jumping is pretty much the entire leg muscle group. I find that seated calf raises help me tip a few more inches.

Same thing with running. To get better, run more

Which muscles do you use to punch, jump, run, and kick... Huh...

ALL OF THEM.

How do you make your hips more flexible? Stretch them. Don't know any stretches? Type "hip stretches" into a search query on Yahoo!

Just goes to show that you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. I love the internet.

Martial arts should teach you to use your intention, alignment and breath for a powerful penetrating punch, not muscle. If you have muscular development, even better. As the theory goes... the breath moves the body.

This is solid ancient martial science.
