i went to a hotel on the beach recently and spent the weekend in the salt water, in the hot sun on the beach. firstly, i swear the sun messes up my skin... i sleep at night and wake up with good skin, but after a day out in the sun, i get crazy acne! so naturally i dont know whether to think the hot sun cleared up my skin or the salt water. i usually go in salt water and nothing happens tho. i also barely wore clothes...i dunno if clothes irritate my skin or something. i jus cant put my finger on what from that weekend cleared up my acne filled body.

Your skin cleared up because of the salt water. Just like it heals wounds, it clears up skin. If you wash your face regurally with salt water, like me, you will have awesome skin.

Salt water and sun will both dry out your skin which of course if you are breaking out due to oily skin is a good thing.

my brother has a lot of acne and the doctor told him to stay out in the sun a lot cause it dries up the pimples and so does the salt water but you want to use a good moisturizer with at least spf 15 built in.

The sun proably helped a little but it could be the sunscreen. I know when I use a moisturizer (and I had oily skin) my skin clears up for a few days then gets use to it and I have to switch brands. It could be too that you were not eating as much sugar as you do and that cleared it up.

It's eithier the salt water, or you just bursted out of your acne phase and its gone. The sun just irritates your skin and makes it worse/ red, sweaty, more oily , and acne

Salt has the ability to clear your skin. People use salt in boiling water to kill bacteria.
There ya go.

Well maybe it's that you sweated less, and since you where in the water often, your pores didn't clog, as they do when you have acne.
I'm really not sure, but I would check if there were other things you did at the hotel that you don't as often at home, like take showers.

Are you sure you didn't use some kind of moisturizer or something? Dang. I don't know how skin can clear up instantly! Ha! That doesn't make sense! Ha! Wow! OK! I guess if you didn't use moisturizer, I don't know! Proactiv? I don't know. Nothing? I don't know. Sorry. Bye! Talk to you later! I don't think so! Maybe. Maybe we will talk soon. OK!

The salt and sun have a cleansing effect. It could also be that there were allergens where you live which were irritating your skin, and those allergens did not exist where you visited.

Didn't say what beach, but ocean water has been typically touted to have benefit to oily skin.
Also, you didn't mention if you used tanning lotion, sunscreen or aloe.
Alot of factors.
