Someone I know and am very close to told me they've been having anal bleeding problems. It's not persistant, and only comes in small dabs after having taking a stool. Does anyone know why this happens? And if so, is it easily treatable?

He or she could have hemorrhoids. Your friend could also be constipated, making the stool very hard, dry, and difficult to pass which can cause some slight bleeding after straining to pass the stool. A definite diagnosis needs to be made by a doctor as this person could also have a lower GI bleed or something as serious as colon cancer. Advise him or her to see their primary care physician as soon as possible.
