The gun is a Tikka T3 7mm mag with a 3-9x40 Monarch Matte BDC scope (made by nikon). I am looking for a bipod that i would be using for prone position shooting. I do competition shooting. What bipod should i get, i was looking at a harris pivoting bipod that has a height of 11-25". Would that be to tall because there is one that is 6-9" and another one that is 8-13". What do you think of my setup and what bipod should i get?

I would recommend the Harris HBL-S series Bi-Pod for Competition Shooting. There is absolutely no need for a "pivoting" rifle bipod in Completions or Matches. I have (3) Long Range Competition Rifles built on Remington 700 Series Receivers and I use this Model Harris Bi pod on all three.....Fully functional and they don't require drilling or tapping. They attach to your front sling swivel, without tools..On and off in seconds and an incredibly steady Bi pod.......Expensive, but worth every penny.....

Sounds like you have a nice set up. If I were you, I'd pick the 11 to 25 inch model bipod because it is the only one that is suited for shooting from the seated position as well as the prone position.

The Tikka is a super gun. My niece has one in .243 with a Burris Fullfield II balistic plex and it shoots great.

For prone shooting I would get the shorter Harris BiPod. The longer one is for shooting from a seated position.

When it comes to quality bipods, I never hear any name mentioned besides Harris. They set the standard by which all others are judged.

Get a Harris bipod, get the height you are comfortable with. How does anyone here know what you are comfortable with?
