I mean THE TEXAS RANGERS, not a sport. be specific as possible, what do they do?

The Texas Rangers are an elite group of law enforcement officers. Only one in a thousand get picked...and that is only when they have an opening ( retired officer or killed ). They use to have a height requirement...you had to be over 6 feet tall...but tha has changed.....it also use to only have 94 Rangers...had something to do with the rifle they carried...and it still may be in effect.

Well for a start its not a military unit and don't use the Chuck Norris T.V. series as a guide :-P

As a side note the 9th and 10th Cavalry had very intense rivalries with those officers.
