1 16-ounce loaf of Italian bread or French bread
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
2 large cloves of garlic, smashed and minced
1 heaping tablespoon of freshly chopped parsley
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
1 Preheat oven to 350°F.
2 Cut the bread in half, horizontally. Mix the butter, garlic, and parsley together in a small bowl. Spread butter mixture over the the two bread halves. Place on a sturdy baking pan (one that can handle high temperatures, not a cookie sheet) and heat in the oven for 10 minutes.
3 Remove pan from oven. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over bread if you want. Return to oven on the highest rack. Broil on high heat for 2-3 minutes until the edges of the bread begin to toast and the cheese (if you are using cheese) bubbles. Watch very carefully while broiling. The bread can easily go from un-toasted to burnt.
4 Remove from oven, let cool a minute. Remove from pan and make 1-inch thick slices. Serve immediately

For easy: use already minced garlic
Cut a loaf of french bread lengthwise
combine garlic and soft butter
spread on the bread (not too thick)
place in oven under "broil"
keep and eye on it and take out when golden and crispy
you can add thinly sliced red onion or sprinkle with whatever herbs float your boat (but bake sure they don't burn)
:)

Sure, split a loaf of french bread into 2 halves.
Butter the bread, and then lightly sprinkle garlic salt, paperika, and Parmesan cheese over the tops
Put the two halves back together, wrap in foil, and bake in a 325 degree oven for about 15 to 20 minutes.
If you like a crustier bread, after you bake it, open the halves again and put face up on a baking sheet on the top rack of your oven. Set the oven to broil and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes. Make sure you watch it carefully because it will burn!

Use French or Italian bread. Slice it! Toast lightly on one side. On the other side, spread butter across its top. Then, add a shake of garlic powder. Next, sprinkle Parmesan cheese across the top. Shake paprika over the top. Place under the broiler, and grill until bubbly and brown.

Mix butter or margarine with garlic powder to your own taste. When the mixture is to your own liking then spread it on your bread. I suggest you put the bread back together and wrap it in tinfoil then in the oven until warm.

Melt some butter, in a microwave safe dish, and add garlic powder (to your liking) to it and mix it up. Dip a brush into the garlic butter, spread it on your bread (either one, or both sides) and stick it in an oven (or toaster oven, for smaller servings) until it is crisp (to your liking). Usually about 10 - 15 minutes per side (if both sides are buttered). If you butter both sides, you must bake both sides of the bread.

Super easy and quick way to make it:
Pop hamburger buns in the toaster. When they are done immediately spread butter on them then sprinkle them with garlic salt. I also sprinkle w/parmesan-romano cheese and sometimes a dash of Italian seasoning.
