For all those vampire hunters out there: is it tacky to taxidermy particularly impressive catches?

No, but you should use at least a waist-up mount. Just taking heads IS tacky, and will make folks think you a cheapskate.
Some modern mounting options you really should consider are the wall-mount coffin-half with the protruding stake and the "suprised look". These make for a most attractive, museum-quality mount, that you'll be proud of for years to come. You should not expose the mount to direct sunlight, or fading, color-loss, and disintergration may occur.

Boker, you must be catching the new vampires.

All the old bloodsuckers I've nailed crumbled into dust within a few minutes of driving the stake through them. I reckon they were real old and the inner flames had gone out.

It's hard to mount dirt. Just sweep 'em into a baggie and tack it to the wall with a label.

I don't care if you taxidermy any of them as long as you kill every one that you see. They do look kinda neat on your den wall, though.

I've never been able to have one stuffed before it burst into flames.
