Please help. My friend recently went to America and bought my nephew some PS2 games, but they won't play on his PS2 -is there anyway I can change it, reset it etc.
I also bought him some games from the local games shop and they only seem to play in Italian is there anyway to change the language to English?
Help I am totally lost with all this PS2 talk!!!!!!!!

the swap magic answer is the best solution ...two discs that cost about £18 and a set of tiny little bits of metal ..fiddly little things ..i gave up with them and opened my console ,glued down the little sensors inside ,basically with these discs you can load up a title screen then you opent the consoles disc tray take out the swap magic disc and replace with your import game ,close the tray or lid and the game loads ..simple ...google swap magic theres lots of info on this on the net and if i can open a console correctly and follow a couple of simple instructions then anyone can
its saved a fortune on games ,buy from the us and there half price ..it also allows you to play `backup copies` of games recorded on dvd-r discs ,tres handy!

Officially, nothing. However there are modchips available on the grey market. If properly installed, good ones (like Modbo) will let you play games from other regions, backup games and downloaded games. But it's ILLEGAL!

Look for a mod chip. Get it professionally installed if you are afraid.

yes you can only if you take the game to the store and have the disk changed because the run in opposite directions in other countries
