i have a LA tattoo on the back of my neck its about 2.25 x 2 inches. not too big but do you think i will still be able to enlist and be in the navy? i know alot of guys with tattos but its usually in places people cant see i.e. under their sleeves. please let me know

That tattoo would need a waiver if they will grant you one since it IS against Navy tatoo policy. No neck and no sleeve tats or any other tattoo that can be seen in uniform. Your recruiter will have to put a waiver request in your package and see what they say about it. LA could be considered gang related depending on the font. No gang tats either. Good luck and ask for a waiver, you will never know until you ask.

I work at a military base, and I see tattoos all day long. On people of all ranks. When I was in the Air Force we couldn't have visible tats, but it seems to me those rules have been changed. I would advise you check with a recruiter.

If you get it removed, yeah. While in uniform tattoo's cannot be visible.

it cannot show in uniform. If it is gang related or offensive, you are DQd

since it is on your neck,it will have to be removed,since they make you keep your hair so short it will show in uniform.

they usually make you remove it if you are going to join

probaly. if its visible through basic training, your gonna have to remove it

I believe if you can cover it up it's OK.
