The others called it pretty well but there is so much more to it at least here. We all carried a pager for a year and had to be on scene in a specific amount of time, every time {many calls were staged for us}. Our team is cross trained in almost every aspect so when you arrive you may be assigned to entry or sniper or whatever. You just don't know but you must think fast and be sure of everything you do or of every order you give. It would take more time and space than I have here to explain even a small part, but I wonder WHY do you want to do this ? You would be very wrong to think anybody ever wants to pull a trigger the difference is that we will if we have to.

You have to be a police officer first. Apply at larger agencies that have swat teams. Swat teams practice alot, and they often need volunteers to help them play out scenarios, set up targets, etc. Volunteer and get to know them. Soon you will be viewed as a hard worker that shows interest in swat. When a position comes up you will have the advantage.

The ONLY step you need to concern yourself with right now is to first become a law-enforcement officer. If you cannot do that, then the rest is also out the window.

In other words, learn what it takes to become a law-enforcement officer and ignore the rest until you have so become.
