I have been looking for days online, I cannot find anything. People that have rare vintage rifles must carry them in something!

Hey! Thanks everyone, It is 54" long, a Leman Plains rifle, but very fancy, nice flame wood and lots of brass ornimate. I wanted to find something like a SKB. Most of these online stores have very little and I have seen nothing for flintlocks, mussel loader, long rifles etc... This rifle has been in my Crockett family ever since it was new, early 1800's.

Sonny,

This question is being asked I assume due to the length of the firearm.

I can not point you to a specific source, but I believe someone from the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association may be able to help.

They have an on-line presence and on the contact page you may find a phone number or E-mail address to direct your query.

You may even find a source from a chartered club in your area.

Hope this helps.

I wish I knew. I made one for mine. I bought a nice one in Texas that looked like it would fit a long rifle but when I got home here in Indiana, it wouldn't fit. So, I just made one out of plywood and lined it with foam rubber. It isn't all that pretty but it isn't an eyesore, either. Anyway, it works.

I heard that there was someone custom making them of aluminum but they guy who told me about it didn't remember where he saw it. I'm going to do some more checking this spring when I go to the Spring shoot in Friendship, IN.

In the meantime, I guess I'll just do as I have been doing and that is putting my other long rifles in blanket cases just as they did in the old days. When I go to Friendship, I usually carry two or three rifles as well as my muzzleloading shotgun.

Tuffpak makes a 52" hard shell case.

Here's a 60" soft case, made for a 50 caliber rifle, but will still work for a longrifle.
