*Some* Muslims believe that Christian believe that God had sex with Mary and provided the sperm that joined Mary’s egg. (These same misunderstand the trinity to be God, Jesus, and Mary)

But, ALL Christians proclaim that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary.

God created mankind in His own image – perfect and holy. (Genesis 1:26-27)
Man sinned and fell, and his “image” became sinful. (Genesis 3)
When Adam begot a son, Seth, it was in Adam’s fallen sinful image. (Genesis 5:3)

Could one born of woman, in the fallen sinful image of Adam bring redemption to the world?
That is, would a sinful sacrifice be acceptable to the holy LORD God Almighty?

If not, how could the “egg” of Mary and the Holy Spirit provided “sperm” form a zygote leading to the God-man, Jesus, who is said to be the only begotten Son of the Father?

Wouldn’t Mary’s egg have to be “perfect”?
Was Jesus begot in the “perfect” and “sanctified” image of Mary?

Does this give credence to the doctrine of the “Immaculate Conception”, held by Catholics?

Or did God provide the sperm AND the egg, because Mary was also sinful and needed a savior?

Mary did not have to be perfect. If God created a full grown man (Adam) and a full grown woman (Eve) back at the beginning, he could have formed a body for His Son at any stage.

However, Eve WAS promised that the Savior would come from her Seed, and Eve was certainly sinful. Could not the Holy Spirit have concecrated Mary's body to carry Jesus? While I don't pretend to understand the entire process, what I do understand is that God can do ALL things if He wills it. Also, Mary was of the fallen race of man, otherwise the seed would not have been the seed of Eve, and Mary herself, if she was sinless, would have not had the curse of death upon her, and would not have needed a Savior.

My friend I do admit I had yo look up that word zygote. Never heard of it before. See I did learn something new today.

The words of the Bible make this very clear. In Genesis chapter 3 it declares that the "seed" pf the woman would be the source. Thus I must accept your option offered in : Or did God provide the sperm AND the egg, because Mary was also sinful and needed a savior?

In accepting your offered option does not say that I would use your words for I see in my view that Jesus was a clone and not an egg and sperm unity as most births are seen For me this is covered in finite detail in the Bible words. It is explained where the source material came from, how it was protected from contamination, and all the other details for clear simple understanding.

Artificial insemination by invisible instrument. As for real: There were more virgin births recorded in history and were classed as phenomena and used by religious dogmas. It is now explained by biological science that a sperm can penetrate through the membrane of a virgin (in rare occasion). Also it is known that some virgins don't have that membrane at all (sometimes due to physical activities of growing female), eg. the girls that engage in sports like show jumping, dressage, and some other sports (not necessary equestrian). As for Mary, sure, the sperm and the zygote would have to come together in order to conceve. So, Jesus was born. Now, interpretation of Luke 1:35 for example: First, that verse does not talk about conceiving son of God. (well, Christianity wants to see it that way). The actual message was that time will come and body of Jesus, being carefully prepared, will be taken over by the entity of Christ, who's spirit will transmigrate into the chosen body (with compatible vibrations to that of a spirit of Christ). Now, transmigration doesn't happen without agreement of both sides: the spirit preparing to take over and the owner of a body - hence the 'angel's' message to Mary and others, message put out in the way they could accept what will happen and begin understanding event since conception occurred.

You are under a misconception of the nature of deity. Jesus was the child of a mortal mother, Mary using her own ovaries and egg, and an immortal father, God, using his own perfected sperm. The Holy Ghost came upon Mary because only with the Holy Ghost present could she withstand the presence of the Father to conceive within her the child that would have the characteristics of deity necessary to become the Savior of mankind. Mary was a choice vessel above all other women, as perfect a woman as was available, chosen for that purpose before she was born. That was her mission from her premortal existence before the foundations of the world. Joseph was likewise selected to be the earthly father for Jesus mortal training. Christ grew up as the perfect mortal example so that He alone could perform the infinite atonement for mankind. He was and is the lamb without blemish sacrificed to take away the sins of mankind if they would repent and come unto Him.

I think the immaculate conception doctrine is flawed and without Biblical evidence, therefor I reject it. Honestly, I've never really pondered the mechanics of Jesus' conception, I always thought, God made Adam with dust and Eve with a rib, surely He can cause a pregnancy without sperm. I'll have to ponder that a little more, maybe.
