It's a mystery and unexplainable.....Jesus appeared to his apostles when the door was shut.
Nothing is impossible with God.
Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee.

In history it is common for gods to be born of virgins.... menstruation is filthy in most primitive cultures even today....and it certainly was among the starving bunch of shepherds called the tribe of Israel. As well, Christianity is rather a copy-cat religion... Adam and Eve is a Babylonian myth, adopted into the christian holy book, the 10 commandments and Moses are predated by almost 1200 years, by the 12 denials of Egypt which are word for word about the same and the idea of a trinity is universal in almost all religions that came out of the Middle East and Northern Africa.

I suspect if the story of Mary & Joseph were true, that Mary got pregnant out of wedlock. That would have meant certain death for her in that particular culture. Joseph likely wanted to protect her, and as a man -- could vouch for her "God's the father" story. Chances are the kid was really his.
But seriously - long before the Virgin Mary birth there were numerous godesses who were virgins and gave birth to other gods. Happened all the time back then. I think it was a favored myth that was just recycled a lot.

I accept it this way:
The men who wrote the holy stories that would become the New Testament - the Life and Times of Jesus, had to make him a deity in order to rouse the people, so they had to apply a story about his birth from God - not just from earth people - so they concocted this story about Jesus and the virgin mother and the patient, but obsequious father Joseph.
In those days, the word "virgin" was used to describe any young woman. Today we call them teens or adolescents. Virgin didn't necessarily mean "with hymen in tact" The confusion is deepened by the language to describe her.

I don’t have any problem believing the virgin birth.
To those that don’t believe in Jesus, it’s probably really hard to believe anything in the bible.
Somehow, when you believe in Jesus, you just believe it all.
I think if you took one part of the story out, (the story about Jesus), none of it would make any sense.
The more I learn the more I can see how the rest of it fits together.
A virgin birth is the only way Jesus could have done all the things He did.

I'll try to keep this short. By one man (Adam) sin entered into the world. Blood is not transferred to the fetus by the mother but does come from the father. That's why we are born in sin and iniquity. Jesus could not come from this bloodline so God bypassed the sperm germ and miraculously created life in the virgin Mary. This is why without the shedding of Jesus blood on the cross of Calvary there is no remission or forgiveness of sin. Hope this helps. SONS OF THUNDER

I try not to. Mary was a married woman, the likelihood of her being a "virgin" was minimal. In any case it is a mistranslation from the Hebrew text, the correct translation being "Young Woman"

It is generally accepted by open-minded people that research the subject that it was a mistranslation. Other than that, if it was true, there is this thing called in vitro fertilization, a technology which I am sure a higher intelligence would possess.

The early Christians mistranslated the word young lady to virgin in the book of Isaiah to justify their pagan belief. Of course God can do anything but he did not do that because it was unnecessary.

How would you be able to tell she was a virgin after she had a baby. For that matter, who do you think proved it BEFORE? o.O
