I have RA and saw a Podiatrist, found out my feet were turning inwards, so they gave me some corrective insoles and the difference is excellent. Now the only problem, when I am bare foot, or wearing slippers, the pain comes back!

I did a big research paper on dietary supplements and rheumatoid arthritis.

Fish oil contains omega 3 fatty acids, and is the only dietary supplement out there that has proven benefits to those with rheumatoid arthritis. It can help with stiffness and tenderness if taken regularly.

Glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate supplementation may also alleviate some of your symptoms.

SAMe supplements have also shown to help those with osteoarthritis somewhat.

Ask your doctor about these supplements and keep in mind that the benefits of them may take weeks or even months to start to show.

Good luck, hope you feel better.

I suffer the same pain due to MS. Pain killers do nothing for this pain. I tried shoe inserts. They do help some. I also find that if I keep my shoes on through most of the day, the support along with the inserts helps a lot. If you are able, try to see a podiatrist. She/he can help you get the right inserts and alleviate this pain.
