I've known this guy for about 5 years now. We dated about 4 years ago and we stopped talking. I recently started dating him again and the other night we were at his friends house and he told me he loves me. The only thing that I'm concerned about is that he was drunk. I didn't know what to say so it was an awkward silence for a minute. Yesterday I was talking to him and I said do you remember what you said to me lastnight? He said yes and he never said anything else after that. I'm not really sure if he means it though. Can someone tell me how I would be able to tell if he's being sincere or not?

Ask him if he meant it. He may not have been as intoxicated as you thought. If he says he did, be sure to follow it up with something: 'I like you too, but give me some time to decide if it's love or not' or 'I want to take things further, but we need to go slowly' ... don't make him say it and you say nothing back is the key here.

People think that when someone is drunk they dont know what they are saying but the truth is you will get a more truthful answer when they are drunk.

well remember that actions speak louder than words, so if he acts like he loves you, not just says it, then theres a good chance he actually does.
