Id say about 200 kids at my high school smoke every morining and after school and during lunch...they stand on the street across from our school and smoke..likes it no big deal...and in our town we have LOTS of cops...they'll give you a ticket for the Dumbest reason they can think of..the cops,teachers,crossing guards and all the people in our town see the kids do it.....so if its Illegal then why arent these kids getting in trouble for it??

no there arent other crimes to fight...we barely have any crimes here..all our cops do is give tickets to parents for dropping their kids off at the curb and crap like that

and they stand right in the open...they dont hide that ****..they blow the smoke up into the air..like its no big deal..

Times have so changed. When I was 13 I could walk in many stores and buy a pack by giving the girl 29 cents and leaving.
However in high school, if a school authority could see you smoke in line of sight from the school, the first offense was suspension and second expulsion. Three years later they had a smoking bathroom.
Now a smoker has to hide in a closet.

Because there are bigger things to worry about and they don't have the man power to deal with it. but i'm pretty sure when all else is calm and you got some one that inforces the law gets bored they will be on top of it. if your truely concerned take it to the principle or school counsler

I used to say "Go, ahead and stink and die younger. What the hell do I care?"
Then I got to thinking about how much those *** holes cost my government because our taxes have to foot the bill when their insurance, or lack of, doesn't cover their $$$expensive$$$ treatments.
Anyways, maybe someone needs to call the police on them. Drop a dime.

its all because they dont get caught. many people i know in my town smoke that are my age. its a shame really :(. but they've gotten caught. if the police dont catch them, then they dont stop. also they could look older wen they smoke. it makes u look older is wat ive been told so cops could look at them as a 21 year old smokingg. other then that i dont know really. its a shame that smoking and alcohol is damaging youth of america

Is it actually illegal for teens to smoke in your area or is it illegal to sell tobacco to minors or to purchase it for them? This is a fine distinction, but it could explain it.

IT IS NOT ILLEGAL TO SMOKE CIGARETTES, rather it is illegal to buy tobacco products like cigarettes.
