Don't melt the butter, just soften to the point that you can jam it into the mold with a spatula. Then refrigerate.

Turkey Butter Mold

Your error was melting. You need to SOFTEN but not actually melt.

Leave the button out in a warm, but not hot, area for about an hour. Then press into the mold and chill.

Depending on the mold, you may need to put flour or oil onto the mold to allow easier removal. Even though butter is oily, chilled button has a tendency to stick to the mold.

Sure thing. Let the butter sit out to room temperature. It will be mushy. Now melt a TBSP of butter to full melted stage and pour into bowl with room butter. it will make it really soft and pourable without separation. Put it in the mold and tap the mold on the counter to get rid of air bubbles. put in fridge and there you go!

You would simply soften the butter and put into a mold, which should come in two parts, put in fridge, let set, take out and take the mold apart.

Let the butter come to room temp before attempting to put into the mold.

Not melted, just soften it to the consistence of toothpaste, fill and tap mold on table to get bubbles out, keep doing it till is full, then put in fridge to solidify and voilá!
