Depends what you want. They're all as good as each other for treatment of fleas - Frontline Plus probably has the slight edge because it kills flea eggs as well as adults and larvae - Advocate kills flea larvae but the rest only do adult fleas.

Revolution and Advocate both treat sarcoptic mange and ear mites as well as roundworms. Advocate also treats demodectic mange.

None of these treatments cover tapeworms - for complete worming treatment you need a veterinary tablet or paste, or the spot-on Profender which is only available from some vets - it does not treat fleas.

Frontline Plus is my personal fave because it treats fleas, flea eggs and ticks. I prefer to use a tablet for worming.

My 3 dogs have sensitive skin and would start to bite at their back ends above the tail as soon as a single flea would get on them. I had tried many products, but after using Advantage they have not once bit at their backs again. They do live in the house, but that doesn't mean they are not exposed to the outdoors! I understand there is a newer version of Advantage out, but I have stuck with the original as it has suited my guys just fine!

Before adopting my cats, they had been given doses of Advantage. When we took them to the vet, we found that they had some flea eggs and droppings in their fir, so the vet gave them some Revolution. The second and third times we returned, they were clean. Take that for what its worth.

If you ask in general, it's going to be 50 - 50 people like their own brand and they essentially do the same thing, BUT This year is particularly malicious, as it is the first year(after ten years of Frontline and Advantage) that all those fleas we tried to kill with Adv. and Frontline, have banded together to make our lives h e ll creating super nova fleas AND I AM NOT KIDDING YOU!. It is the perfect example of evolution, and this is supposed to be one of the worst years on record and it has been with me. So treat with either one to start, but nip it in the bud our you'll be miserable. Get Boric Acid (not as scary as it sounds) just to have in the house in case you GET fleas and you have to dust the house while your baby is getting dipped.

If your paying for Advocate, Advantage, frontline or any of these products from your Vet then you are getting charged anywhere from double up to triple the price as opposed to purchasing it online.

i think it is a coin toss...our vet distributes advantage (i think) and it seems to work very well. at least i think it is advantage, my wife calls it that and i go to the vet for it (the over the counter stuff is questionable), but y'know i've never read the lable....
