O Positive is the most common of blood types and the one most sought after by the American Red Cross. It is a universal type which can be used by people with other blood types. Mine is A Positive. If you are not a regular donor, why not become one? You will feel great giving to help others in need and it only costs an hour or so of your time.Think about it! There is always a great need for blood.

No, and that's a good thing. The O blood types are the universal blood types. I can't remember if O+ is universal donor or universal recipient, but positive is one and negative is the other. This is very, very good. It means that if you ever are in a fix and need blood, there is a lot of your type of blood available and the blood centers won't have to contact donors with your specific type to come in and donate so you won't die.
