or do you think that Christmas should be just for the kids?

My husband and I exchange gifts on Christmas as well as I have my children by a present for the other, since I have 2 children it is easy, but it is the thought that counts. Although it is not all about the gifts it's about being together as a family.

We don't really exchange gifts since we usually do a lot of things together all through out the year. We see the holidays more for spending quality time with the family. We have a 5 month old and I think we're more into getting gifts for the kids.

We usually do but the majority of the money spent on gifts goes to the kids. This year we are having to watch every penny spent and won't be getting each other much. We just got new cell phones (free by upgrading) so we joke and say that's our Christmas gift for each other. This year, we will each take our son and $20 and let him get a gift for mom & dad and then will probably spend around $20 on each other (from Santa).

I agree w/ mgnavadomskis to an extent. If my hubby or I want something (any time) we discuss it and then buy it.

we exchange gifts too. We usually give each other 2 or 3 gifts in addition to buying for the kids.

We always exchange gifts. Christmas is a time for giving and for spending time with family.

Yes, we exchange gifts with eachother, although in all honesty Christmas is mostly about the kids. We want to save money for their presents, so we tend to spend less on presents for eachother.

my husband and I exchange gifts. Grant our children get much more than we do. But we still do for each other. It is part of the season the spirit of Christmas.

Me and my BF exchange gifts, we have a 3 yr old son...obviously the kid gets a lot more than we get for eachother, but we always give something to one another.

Neither my husband or I are really big on getting/needing/expecting gifts. Santa usually brings us a little something each year. And, we help the kids buy a present for mom/dad, so that they can learn about the joy of giving. But, we don't usually get something secret/unknown for each other. If there's something that either of us needs/wants over the year, we just talk it over & then buy it. Getting each other gifts seems kind of like spending money that we don't need to spend.

Of course we exchange gifts. When it comes to extended family, though, the adults agreed years ago just to do token presents, carefully thought out.
