In my experience with the South Beach diet:
a. yes, yes, yes
b. 30 lbs (from 138lbs to 108lbs)
c. I've been on this diet now for 8 months so far so yes. It's very restrictive in the beginning but I now do a more relaxed version of it. In my opinion this diet is a sure thing.

I used it to lose 147 pounds, I have maintained my weight loss for four years now. But I honestly think that it required a total change of thinking on my part. South Beach is not just a "diet plan", it is a way of life. You have to commit to changing your entire life permanently, to lose weight and keep it off.
