A competent sociologist would gather the data and analyze it before making representationsas to what it said.

You presume on no evidence (and Xialou is following right along) that there is some disparity. had you stated this as a hypothesis you'd be fine, but you've already made up your mind.

And you are wrong.
There are no disparities, save with regard to gender.

The Congressional Budget Office published a report on this just a few months ago. The link is below.

Once a responsible Socilogist read this, perhaps verified the data with other independent sources, they would conclude that there are no meanigful disparities in military enlistments with regard to race or socio-economic status.

There are some ohter good studies regarding the number of military eligible indivuduals in the US today, how many are fit , physically and educationally for service, and factors such as parental approval, Congressional representation, exposure ot Veterans and other such factors that figure into the decision of an individual to join.

Asked and answered many times. The uneven representation that does exist in the military is often listed by race or ethnic group but a more accurate way to describe it would be economics. The young people, regardless of race, in the lower economic levels see the military as a means of moving up b technical training, money for college, opportunity to travel and see other places that is not available or readily available to them through their family. More affluent young people have the means to do much of that without the military and consider it something that would "waste there time" and serve little purpose since they are going to college or tech school anyway. Scholarships off set the financial pinch on the lower economic spectrum but since some did not do as well in school to start with they are not ready for college/tech school or not eligible for the scholarship based on GPA. This was a minor factor in why I joined and from recruiting duty was a reason I often heard from personnel wanting to go in. I doubt if that has changed much. The imbalance in race is because those groups make up a higher percentage of that economic class. Blacks, Hispanics, Southerners and Westerners (not West Coast) make up a larger share of the military because they find it to be an easy way to improve themselves and their future with the resources available to them through other channels not being as available.

the militia has constantly been non-representative of the inhabitants as an entire based in many cases on economics; race is in contact because of the fact the blacks and Hispanics are on undemanding decrease on the economics scale. the only time frames this became no longer genuine, or much less so then maximum different cases, became in the time of worldwide conflict 2 however the militia became hugely bigger and a known draft became in consequence. Even in the time of that element era exceptions for college teenagers and specific industries positions meant those drafted have been usually center-classification or decrease economic scale. The draft used after Worls conflict 2 had many extra exceptions be excused and returned those especially have been useful to the better economic training. the militia is a competent place to get money for coaching, a job skill and, often times, a place to be for a speedy time and settle on what you prefer to do which comprise your existence; today with a conflict happening the latter isn't as genuine yet interior the previous due 70's till 9/eleven it became a third reason of turning right into a member of. because of the fact the better economic communities do no longer might desire to concern themselves as lots with money for eduacation or job coaching the militia appeals to them much less. The decrease economic communities frequently racial minorities, plains staters, and small city mid-west are lots extra in all danger to connect for those motives. An officer I labored with interior the Marines did a masters paper on the make up of the militia and interveiwed many service individuals to make certain why, no longer in elementary terms Marines took leave and went to army, military and Air Forces bases additionally and located the only element around the board became the economics area of it-a brilliant majority in all centers have been decrease-center classification or decrease and in-ordinate probabilities have been from rural components whilst positioned next to the final inhabitants. So race may be a element inspite of the undeniable fact that it would be tied extra in economics or maybe geographis; in case you won't be in a position to bypass to college and don't prefer to stay interior the small farming city you reside interior the militia is a place to start. What might sociologists make of it-probably all diverse perspectives which might remember on what they meant to locate to start with. the only answer may be accepted government service devoid of exceptions-word government and not militia service, and that may not happen.

They are socialized by the media and culture that they are defending freedoms etc.
Also conservatives have a worldview of conformity and submission to the pecking orders.

A democrat is more likely to think the military is used for the elite to control resources of the world.

It is simply "awareness"

It's not uneven. It's made up solely by individuals who have chosen to sign up for it.
