I was sort of in your shoes. Look at what they teach vs. the Bible. Your boyfriend is deceived. You also need to be aware of the sex abuse of children that goes on the cult. As you can see by the number of stars you've received, you've stepped into a spiritual war.

JW’s have their magazines, watchtower books, and the nwt which is a neutered satanic translation. These are additions to Scripture.

You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Deut. 4:2

Beware of the scribes. Luke 20:46

Jesus was Michael the archangel who became a man, The Watchtower, May 15,
1963, p. 307; The New World, 284.

Scripture says…

For to which of the angels did He ever say: “ You are My Son. Heb. 1:5

Jesus was only a perfect man, not God in flesh, Reasoning from the Scriptures,

Scripture says…

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Tim. 3:16

For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 2 John 7

Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 2 John 9

And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” Ex. 3:14

Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” John 8:58

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Phil. 2:5-8

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Gal. 4:4-5

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone. Heb. 2:9

For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Col. 2:9

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Scripture says…

But we are all like an unclean thing,
And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags;
We all fade as a leaf,
And our iniquities, like the wind,
Have taken us away. Isaiah 64:6

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Eph. 2:8-9

The Holy Spirit is a force, not alive, Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1985, pp.
406-407.

Scripture says…

1. Jehovah's Witnesses teach that the Holy Spirit is an active force like radar. They deny that He is alive, that He is a person. This is, of course, because they deny the Trinity. Yet, if the Holy Spirit is simply a force then...
1. Why is He called God (Acts 5:3-5)?
2. How is it that He can teach (John 14:26)?
3. How can He be blasphemed (Matt. 12:31,32)?
4. How can be the one who comforts (Acts 9:31)?
5. How is it possible for Him to speak (Acts 28:25)?
6. How then can He be resisted (Acts 7:51)?
7. How can He be grieved (Eph. 4:30)?
8. How can He help us in our weaknesses (Rom. 8:26)?
2. If the Holy Spirit is a force, then how is it possible that the above mentioned phenomena are attributed to Him? A force doesn't speak, teach, comfort, etc.
3. Nor can you blaspheme against a force.

There is no hell of fire where the wicked are punished, Let God be True, p. 79, 80.

Scripture says…

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Rev. 21:8

Luke 16:19-31

In no way, shape, or form does JW doctrine align with the Bible.

And the LORD said to me, “The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart. Jer. 14:14

I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. Gal. 1:6-9

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. 2 Cor. 11:13-15

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 Pet. 2:1

Bread gained by deceit is sweet to a man,
But afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel. Prov. 20:17

Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. Matt. 22:29

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim. 3:16-17

To JW’s

Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth? Gal. 4:16

Jehovah's Witnesses don't even believe God is omniscient (all-knowing) nor that he is omnipresent (all places at all times). They think Christ's sacrifice excludes Adam and Eve. They believe the Bible can only be interpreted by "the faithful and discreet" AKA The Governing Body who publishes The Watchtower magazine. They are taught they cannot recieve the correct interpretation without The Watchtower. The Watchtower Society has made NUMEROUS false predictions of the end of the world: 1914, 1920, 1925, 1975, 1994....

They are very nice people who are very devoted to the Bible, but they are unknowingly in a cult.

Jehovah’s Witnesses reject the Trinity, believing Jesus to be a created being and the Holy Spirit to essentially be the power of God. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe Jesus is Michael the archangel, the highest created being. This contradicts many Scriptures which clearly declare Jesus to be God (John 1:1,14; 8:58; 10:30).

How do the Jehovah’s Witnesses justify these unbiblical doctrines? (1) They claim that the church has, over the centuries, corrupted the Bible, and (2) They have re-translated the Bible in what they call the New World Translation. The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society altered the text of the Bible to make it fit their false doctrine – rather than basing their doctrine on what the Bible teaches. The New World Translation has gone through numerous editions, as the Jehovah’s Witnesses discover more and more Scriptures that contradict their doctrines.

Jesus himself teaches the concept of the Trinity very clearly in the baptismal formula in Matthew 28:19.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
I don't think what Christ teaches is paganism.
theSDA sect has a mere 150 year old history,

an Adventist member C T Russell started the Jehovah Witness organization

and the original founders of the Adventist movement were proven false prophets when they attempted to predict the second coming of Christ and were proven wrong

This will help:
http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm/Cults/jw.htm

I have studied all religions, faiths, beliefs and practices so I would be informed and I can always be ready to give an answere...
JW- are a cult ..passionate yes to a fault but a cult nevertheless.....They have re-written God's word , and let's see what God Himself says about this....
Revelation22:18-19
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the phrophecy of this book, If any man shall unto these things ,God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this phrophecy ,God shall take away his part out of the book of "LIFE", and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book...

They do not consider these things, and this is just one of many blasphemous truths about thier cult....
God's truth is the only truth and it never changes just as He never changes and you can always count on that...
Malachi3:6 For I am the Lord I change not...
and I am so grateful He doesn't His truth stands the test of time...Just hide it in your heart , do not look to the left nor the right .........and you will never ever be confused again !
Good question , take care and keep digging.....
One more thing religion is bad , they are, after all the ones responsible for Jesus death..Jesus had many things to say to religious people and none of it was very good....
However relationship with God is good ..Let Him be your guide He loves a hungry heart!

yes god is a force, he doesn't have a penis, a vagina or *** hole or any use for it. He doesn't have eyes, mouth or ears. a stomach to fill. the sexual desire or need. he doesn't suffer from any limitation. You suffer from the same mind set that lead the Jews before mosses to believe in idols.

when he say he made us in his image he was talking about our conscious, will, intelligence, imagination, emotion etc..
only less powerful, with limits and less sophisticate.

1. God and Christ are two separate but united entities.
2. The father= God The son = Jesus Christ The holy spirit= The faith and the faithful.
3. Gods name is Jehovah, read the Bible any Bible.
ref:
Exodus 6:3; Psalm 83:18; Isaiah 12:2; Isaiah 26:4
Genesis 22:14; Exodus 17:15; and Judges 6:24
4. When Christ said "father why have you forsaken me" who
was he speaking too.

No one denomination or one person will ever interpret the bible alone. I'm not a Jehovah Witness and don't believe in any denomination. For one most Christian denominations believe in Idols like the cross or images of Christ wish its a sin. Catholic believe that they can make saints or forgive sins.
Evangelist believe in spirit possession wish is blasphemy
the same sin of Voodoo. None follow Kosher with Christ amendment.

It is not a cult, if you talking about Mormons I would agree because it is trying to replace the bible and is base on cult rituals and fantasy. It is the work of a charlatan and self proclaim prophet trying to destroy the bible. the Bible warns us about this too.

Jehovah witness is a denomination of Christianity base solely on the bible. The literature they use are writing interpretation no different then a priest, reverent or pastor would. But like all Christians, none are willing to listen to each other. Unlike Catholics they actually read and use the bible.

I grew up Catholic, when to baptist church too some times with my aunt when i was young, family who are baptist and leaders of the church, I have a uncle who is a Jehovah witness, a mother who is converted from catholic to Jehovah witness, a father who doesn't follow any denomination, friends and family who are Evangelist, and the doesn't include those that Muslim. So I been exposed to a lot of denominations and religion including Mormons. I've been to the middle east: Israel, Jordon, Jerusalem, Palestine.

Talk to him and explain your concern. If he wants to force religion on you then he isn't good for you any how. But the don't judge the religion until you have lend it a ear and a chance.
But don't listen to people here who have never left there state and much less this country. People who have never read and study the bible and have no Christian values. They are limited by their experience and ignorance. They judge that wish they do not understand.

I am a Jehovah's Witness. You will hear a lot of slander about us from those who don't really know what we believe.

You questioned holidays. We do not celebrate holidays due to their pagan origins. You can look up the origins of each holiday on the Internet and you will see that they did not stem from Christianity, but from ancient pagan religions or practices. The bible says we are not to mix righteous things with lawless things...to not touch the unclean things and God will take care of you. (2 Cor. 6:14-17) Many of other religions know the origin of holidays, but don't feel it is important to stay separate from these things. Jehovah' s Witnesses take remaining clean from things that don't please Jehovah very seriously.

Jehovah's Witnesses are Christian, despite others personal opinion. We follow Christ Jesus example and his teachings, not doctrines of men.

The best thing for you to do if you are interested is to talk to someone at the hall or to your boyfriends family and have someone study with you. Pray about the matter.

only Jehovah's Witnesses are using the name of only true god - Jehovah, and use it in the their bible and in their worship. other others are reluctant to use it even in some cases banish it from their holy bible. although the original manuscript contained the name of Jehovah God is more than 7000 times in the bible. they follow the step of jewish people that Jesus had been cursed for forbid the using of God's name in worship because misinterpreation of third commandment.

"they intend to make my people forget my name" (jeremiah 23:27)
