for maximum stimulation of the glutes you need to perform explosive leg exercises. these are exercises like squats, jumping (plyometrics) and sprinting. look at the glutes of female athletes that participate in these sports like volley ball players and sprinters. they all have great glutes because of the amount of stimulation that these types of exercises provide.

do very deep squats. i dont know your physical attributes but if you are a beginner try with just a bar and squat to about 8-10 inches from the floor. if you are more advanced try it with light weight on the bar. try and flex your glutes (butt) throughout the whol motion.

i would say do about 5 sets of 20 with light to no weight on the bar and then go from there depending on your own comfort level.

Naw do lunges with weights. that firms up your legs and bum.
