During the 1920's, the Eighteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution (aka Prohibition) made alcohol illegal in the United States.

The still (short for Distillation) is a way of extracting alcohol from a fermented mixture. People made their own alcohol by setting up their own stills.

history of the still ? even George Washington distlled 20,000 gallons of whiskey a year.(REF:History Channel)Distilling spirits would have to go back to Europe. Use in the 20's, supply and demand.
