It blows hot air when the vehicle moves, but turns cool as soon as I slow to a stop.

Does the fan actually run and blow air when stopped and idling or does it not? If not, then it's probably the fan motor shot. When the vehicle is moving, air is forced through the cowl intake and through the heater core which doesn't happen when you're stopped. I'm not real familiar with Jeeps, but if the fan motor actually does run and there's just no heat, I'd check the water control valve located between the engine and heater core. Some are vacuum controlled and if you have a hose leaking it could be closing at an idle.

sounds like you are either low on coolant and or your radiator and or heater core is partially plugged. it is also possible that the water pump is going bad but the first ones i put are where you should start
