Lets say computer 1 has a printer/scanner attached and computer 2 doesn't .... I configured it so that I could print from computer 2, is there a way to scan from computer 1 and send it to computer 2 directly without the messenger or mail. Thank you.

On computer 1, create a folder to place the scanned document into. Right click on the folder, and turn on "File Sharing" for that folder. That will allow computer 2 to see any files placed in that folder.

Scan the image, and be sure to save (or move) it into the shared folder.

On computer 2 going into Network Neighbor or My Network Places (depending on the version of Windows you are using). Click on the View all computer on the Network. Should be able to see computer 1 and the shared folder.
