This came up in a message board on a singles website. Some guy told me that most men don't like it when women withold sex from them in a non-marriage relationship (mainly a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship).

I plan on remaining celibate until I get married (I'm 26 by the way). Do most guys find that to be a turn off or not?

What is your opinion about this? Does this fit with most guys you are friends with or hang out with? Or are most of them respectful of a women's choice to stay pure until marriage? This question is out of mere curiousity.

If you'd like, you may include personal experiences.

Unfortunately ... many of my male friends would not last long in a relationship without sex being involved (period). (1st group)

A few of my male friends who are not as "needy" are berated by the 1st group and teased until they come around. This group is frustrated by the number of women who also don't want to have a relationship without sex being involved. (2ncd group)

Falling in the last group (the silent minority) I (we) extend to you respect and honor for (your) choice to stay pure until marriage. A life partner is not found among temporary mating.
(3rd group)

To have sex or not is an (individual) decision based upon your personal convictions not the majority.

That wish, while fine, shows a different set of values than the ones I hold. It would be a sign that our relationship would not work out in the long run. There are guys who hold that value, but I would not date someone who was saving themself for marriage.

I would say most guys yes. but isnt that the point? You dont want most guys but you want the special guy that you will spend your forever with.

Personally for me i wouldnt have a problem but im older and i believe in being a gentleman

i respect an indivuals decision to make that choice. but its not for me. i would move on. what happens after you've married someone n then find you're not sexually compatible. divorce probably. sex is something to be enjoyed so why should u have to be married to enjoy it
