I think he needs to get out of the protection zone that Frank Warren has him in at the moment, It doesn't help if you fight aload of nobodies then a champion, its a huge jump. Don't get me wrong, its very early in his career and there is talk of a european title fight in the near future. Khan needs to fight a few people of decent quality in a few fights time. If he loses, so be it, it's part of a vital learning curve and gives him the knowledge of what it takes to be the top dog, which i believe he will in about 5 years. When you think about it, he only turned 21 a few days ago. Very young, his future is looking nothing but bright at the moment.

hes only 21, and if hes managed correctly he can become a huge attraction in england. His team knows this and is not willing to stick him in with any real competition yet. Also, you dont want him to end up like another Vargas. Vargas was thrown to the wolves pretty quickly and we saw how short a possible great career had become. You also dont want him to end up like Naseem, who dominated everyone he fought. Lost to Marco and never had it in him to come back to the ring.

If his team waits, his promoters will surly bank on him and boxing fans will get to see him fight the best when he is ready. At this point he has great tools, but throwing him in with any real lions who are experienced is dangerous for his career. I dont expect the kid gloves to come off for a while. On BBC news they are already calling him the sugar ray of britain.
