Children are starving around the world because God gave us free will. This is the explanation I am seeing from Believers.
So why are these children so steadfast in their disobedience? Do they all need a big timeout? A spanking? Why are they so determined to CHOOSE starvation?

Justin : No distortion intended. If the system god set up allows people to control other people, the controllees don't really have free will, do they? If god wants everyone to have free will, isn't he required to set up a system conducive to that?

I don't think children are stubbornly evil. I don't think they're evil at all, though some children are, and can be, quite stubborn. I know, cuz I have one boy who can become so stubborn, and he won't budge.
Children disobey us because they need to know the limits of what they can and can't do. The only way to know how hard to push, is to push and see how far the wall will move. Sometimes the wall will move, and sometimes the wall will fall on them. I'm a big fan of spanking as a means of discipline, and I've learned to use it when necessary, and not be angry when I spank. That way, it doesn't turn into abuse.
I also don't believe that "children are starving around the world because God gave us free will". What kind of logic is that? We were given free will, yes, but children are not starving because of that. People in general are hungry because of choices that they've made in their lives, and those choices affect the children in their lives too. No one chooses starvation, unless something else has gone wrong in their lives. There's such a thing as fight or flight, and I know that all three of my children would fight to eat something, in a heartbeat.
I do believe, however, that children live what they learn from the adults in their lives. If a child sees abuse in the home, they will most likely become abusers themselves. If they live with love in the home, they will most likely become lovers of humanity.
Just be careful of what your child sees you doing on a daily basis, you never know when they're watching.

Nice try, it's a clever distortion, but "free will" doesn't necessarily mean "their own" free will, it means somebody's.
we all decided, for one, that a computer and a vehicle were more important than food for other starving children.

You misunderstand the nature of free will. We are not free to what ever we want. When we don't make enough money to pay the power bill, it is not within our free will to have it be paid. We are not necessarily being controlled by PG&E are we? These starving children are victims of their government, and they have free will to make personal decisions, NOT to have food or material items... their decisions to follow God are based on the same information as anyone else and has nothing to do with their wealth or social status.
Consider the approval rating of our own government. There are a lot of people unhappy with American Government, are we being "controlled" to the point of a breach in our free will? Are you not able to make inward decisions for yourself?
You may not have intended a distortion, but through your lack of understanding of the nature of free will, there was indeed a distortion.

The evil is sown by the government, it is their decision that has affected their Children. Earthly justice takes place among mankind. God has left us to govern over our own, our failures and successes are then noted, judged, and then penalized\rewarded by our own. This is our time "to be the boss", so that we may see the benefit and drawbacks to our free will. Our idea of what is "fair" and "justified" is defined by the culture we live in, the geographic location, and the time period. It's is, in other words, relative because of mankinds ability to rationalize and justify.
God's eternal standard of "Justice" will hold everyone accountable, and with a far more severe set consequences than any human justice system...

Ridiculous, isn't it. Anyone with a brain and half a heart could not say that and believe it. I am so glad I gave up christianity. How embarrassing to be associated with people that think like that. The very ones spilling such intelligence need to go hungry for a while. Maybe miss a weekend shopping spree at the mall. These people by their own words are disgusting.
Everyone~ Back up and read what this person actually said. You have it all wrong.

This is an example of the painful extremes that someone will go to rationalize their belief system. My evangelical nephew told me that babies are born with birth defects and illness because we sin. Some God, huh? These are scared people man, because surely nobody would choose that God to follow.

Children don't need to be taught to lie,but they do need to be taught to tell the truth. Disobedience is why we are in the shape we are in. Don't you get it, we are reaping what we have sown.

people take advantage of their free will and keep people starving because they want to control everything... children do not choose to starve... in the end the greedy will suffer and the poor will be plentiful...

Simple, a victim's choice NOT to be hurt doesn't outweigh the choice of someone else to hurt them. (No free will.)
