I was just given a Dodge Intrepid 01. The brake lights don't always go on and the interior lights flicker on bumps. Anyone have a clue?

Okay, i replaced the brake light switch and still nothing. Should i try replacing the actual bulbs?

the brake light problem is because of the brake light switch going out,the other problem with the interior lights going on wen hitting bumps is the door jam switch going bad on it or the door not shutting all the way up on it,most of the time though it is the switch that goes bad on those, its an easy repair also ,both these problems are easy to repair, and cheap, good luck with it.

Replace the brake lamp switch. Be sure you read the directions. It is self adjusting but has to be installed a certain way. Then check the door jamb switches. One is not adjusted right and the switch is closing momentarily when you hit a bump.

Ok, I know you've checked as many wires as you can, the fuses etc. BUT, in some models of Dodge cars, the problem could actually be in your ignition switch...I know weird, but a friend changed everything possible before taking it to the dealer to find that there was a bad ground wire in his ignition switch. Just another thing for you to check.

That's the most bizzarre symptom i've heard yet. the brake light problem could be in the stop light switch or a loose connection or even in the turn signal switch. the interior light could be in one of the door switches or the headlight switch.
